We specialise in furniture of this type at Magnet prices. We offer a complete ‘Kit Kitchen’ purpose made for you, the carcases are made to order to any size, shape and in any wood grain / colour MFC with different acrylic edging tape to match your door choice. Yes, they are of course 18mm thick including the backs and come with adjustable legs and Blum hinges & soft close tandem full extension drawer boxes as standard. The cabinets are constructed properly, glue & dowels not metal Ikea Cam’s. They are truly rigid cabinets, not pre assembled flat pack. As we are a manufacturer we can supply absolutely any accessories that are available in the market place, they usually also can be pre fitted prior to delivery, so you can have that 17 section sorter bin or the Magic corner you have always wanted or simply a timber cutlery divider that fits !
The carcase or cabinet is then decorated with a door, decorative panels & mouldings to any style and finish. We have an extensive range of standard solid timber doors - Maple, Oak, Cherry, Ash or Walnut that can be stained or factory painted to any colour such as Dulux, Farrow & Ball, Fired Earth, Crown, National Trust or any British Standard or RAL colour of your choice in high gloss or a satin finish. We recently have seen a trend of using open or course grain woods like Oak & Ash painted in a colour of your choice and letting the character of the grain show through the painted finish.
We can of course build any timber door of your choice to your individual design or someone else’s! We can replicate any door style for your restoration project.
‘MDF’… that word you cry! Also available for purpose made doors in any size and style, it is without question the best material to build painted furniture from when a stable and consistent finish is required for either hand painted or factory spray finishes. This is also used to build all painted open units such as plate racks & wine racks and it is always at the centre of all High Gloss doors.
Contemporary Vinyl finishes are becoming increasingly more popular due to the excellent ability to replicate wood finishes which can fool any of us that they are real wood. They come in a range of styles and finishes they are incredibly good value for money and low maintenance with wipe down surfaces. They can in most cases colour coordinate with your carcase so there is no need to decorate the units with panels, which saves even more costs. We can of course have them made to any size for you.
Alternatively we can decorate the cabinets with doors from specialist door & component suppliers, for example Burbidge, PWS, Crestwood, Multiwood and Colonial Kitchens to name but a few. These suppliers are generally offering a range of solid timber, vinyl and sometimes factory painted finishes in standard sizes and limited colours.
So considering all these door styles and finishes you quite literally have thousands of choices.
Oh! I nearly forgot! We can also supply veneered doors in any timber species that is currently available, normally flat panel design with a solid timber or veneered edging.

We are specialists in handcrafted in-frame furniture. We have been building handmade furniture since 1949. EJ Nunn have been cabinet makers of distinction for over 58 years! Nowadays we build mainly fitted furniture for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom & studies but our workshops are capable of building just about anything. The only limitations are imagination & budget. We normally end up fitting most of what we build through www.cloistersdesign.co.uk but increasingly we have been supplying furniture ready for fitting for the discerning DIYer and for developers building or renovating prestigious homes. E J Nunn also builds doors & components like plate racks, wine racks, and feature legs for our bespoke kitchens. Freestanding dressers, larders, vanity units and desks can also be built to any design and from any material.

Now in its third generation, Cloisters Design is a family-run business which has evolved from E.J.Nunn which was established in 1949.
Originally a building and decorating company, E.J.Nunn progressed into making purpose-made furniture, concentrating on top quality fitted kitchens and bedrooms. Today, Cloisters Design is an all-encompassing business which undertakes all aspects of interior design and refurbishment for the home and commercial properties. Based in Hemel Hempstead, Cloisters supplies a comprehensive range of products from a multitude of suppliers as well as manufacturing their own furniture. They can offer a truly independent service without limiting their design potential, with a massive choice, catering for all budgets from £8,000 to £40,000. We offer a complete design and installation service, with time served fitters we are able to incorporate all of our clients dreams, desires and wishes, into our designs. In all of our designs, careful consideration is given to many criteria, these can include; child safety, ergonomic use of space and advice on sympathetic design to suit the style and architectural detail of the property. We pride ourselves in being able to come up with the right solution to any design brief.
Cloisters' own staff can undertake all aspects of the building and installation work, including plumbing, electrics, tiling, decorating, flooring and carpentry. All works are carried out according to current building regulations. Tried and tested subcontractors are involved for some specialist work, like granite and marble fitting, murials, paint effects and house extensions. Cloisters understand the upheaval of a kitchen or bathroom replacement and do their best to minimise disruption and complete the work as swiftly as is practical, with the utmost respect for their clients' homes.

As well as our express range we also sell an extensive range of flat pack furniture which comes in a large range of sizes with colour coordinated carcases and a complete range of accessories. As you would expect they are made from 18mm carcases with adjustable legs,Blum hinges & Blum Metabox drawers. Full extension Blum drawer boxes with soft close and soft close door buffers are available at extra cost.
